About Paul Harrison

Paul Harrison brings a wealth of media experience after more than 25 years working in print and digital news and sport.

As an award-winning editor, he has led some of the north west’s most respected and popular titles, including the Stockport Express and the Rochdale Observer, and edited their websites, reaching tens of thousands of people each week.

He has worked for BBC Sport, Mirror Online, Metro and the Manchester Evening News, spending 16 years at MEN Media where he was the Greater Manchester editor and head of digital (weekly titles).

Paul has been a freelance broadcast journalist at the BBC since October 2015 and in 202 took a temporary role in the Greater Manchester Police press office.

Paul’s work has also been published in the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday, News of the World, Sunday Express, Sunday Mirror, Sunday People, Liverpool Echo, Birmingham Mail and the South Wales Echo.

Now the director of Paul Harrison Media, he also owns and runs the news site South Manchester News and travel website Big Planet Travel.

Paul is also a full board trustee for six years at Beechwood Cancer Care Centre, where he has responsibility for PR and marketing, and is on the course accreditation panel for the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
